Most awaited bollywood movies of 2015

We had seen half of 2015 and rest half is still left to explore. In these past six months we got chance to witness several superhit movies like Gabbar is Back, Tanu Weds Manu returns, Byomkesh Bakshi, Piku and more. But box-office duds like Tevar, Roy, Bombay velvet had left immense effect over our expectation with forthcoming movies. But after massive success of Bahubali, audience have ray of hope from these forthcoming flicks, and with release of Bajrangi Bhaijaan today which will definitely add one more blockbuster in Salman’s filmography. People are dying to see several forthcoming movies in this year. So this next blog will try to explore forthcoming 10 most awaited movies of 2015:

10.Calendar Girls: Madhur Bhandarkar is known for giving us hard hitting movies dealing with social issues. Movies like Chandni bar, Page-3, Fashion all showed us the real face of our society, some are of lower class and some are of elite people, but he had reflected their dark face so well that he had made his own devoted audience who always want something new from him. But his last releases, Jail (2009),Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji (2011) and Heroine (2012) put him on backfoot front of his contemporary directors. But his latest flick Calender Girls raised audience expectations from this national awardee. This movie is about to releases on 1st July, 2015.

9.All Is Well: Well it may not sound most awaited movie before. But after  its trailer been released which got over three million views, its look like people have expectations from this movie starring Rishi kapoor and Abhishek Bacchan who surprisingly made their reputation for playing comic roles. They both set to come together in this movie with additional cast of Supriya Pathak, Zeeshan Ayub and Asin. Directed by Oh My god! fame Umesh Shukla people is expecting another light hearted comical movie about dysfunctional family like Piku. This movie may not touch the standard of Piku but its trailer shows that this movie may have its own fun element. Rishi Kapoor already had proven his comical talent with movies like Do Duni Chaar (2010) and Abhishek Bachchan's career was bit picked up with his past release Happy New Year where people loved his comical roles of Nandu/Vicky. This movie also been in news because Supriya Pathak role was earlier to play by Smriti irani but she had to leave this project because of her political responsibilities. This film will be hit theatre on 21st August.

8.Rocky Handsome: Many of you, who are not aware about this upcoming action thriller of 2015, it’s like my duty to inform you that this movie is consist of John Abraham, Shruti Hassan and some kick ass action sequences for which action directors from aboard were already been signed. Inspired from Korean’s highest grossing film Man from Nowhere (2010), this is the story of a man who have to fight against drug mafia after they taken a girl with whom he shares a special bond. Film’s director Nishikant Kamath and John had already given us superb action movie Force (2011) and thus it is obvious that people had set their eyes on this movie as well. Tend to release in the end of this year, this film surely creates hype among audience once its trailer will release.

7.Hero:  In 1983 Subhash Ghai gave us two superstars of its time Jackie Shroff  and Meenakshi Sheshadri with his superhit classic Hero. This movie had already been remade in Telugu in 1986 named Vikram starring Nagarjuna and in Kannada in 1988 named Ranadheera. Now more than 20 years later bollywood lovers will get chance to witness this rebellion love story in contemporary nature. Produced by Salman Khan and directed by Nikhil Advani this movie mark debut of two superstars kids, Suniel Shetty's daughter Aaliya Shetty and Aaditya Pancholi's son Suraj pancholi.Consists of such big names in this movie, schedule to release 11th july, movies trailer got more than 5 lakh views in just two days and it is obvious that people can’t wait to see this rebellion love saga back on screen.

6.Drishyam: We all know Ajay Devgan for playing emotional, intense roles, but from past few years we had seen him in more masala flicks like Singham and Golmaal franchises (thanx to Rohit Shetty) but with his recent flops like Himmatwala and Action Jackson, its look like Ajay Devgan is back in another drama role. Drishyam was another remake of a superhit Malyalam movie Drishyam (2013). With ten national award winner behind making of Ajay Devgan starrer,it is fifth attempt to cash this story on screen. This movie not only have direct competition from its original version but also from Kamal Hassan starrer  Papanasam which was too remake of same movie and already hit theatres on 3rd of this month and decalred superhit with fantastic opening of 80-100% occupancy. This movie will hit theatres on 31st July.

5. Tamasha:  Scheduled to be release on 27th November, this Imtiaz Ali directed venture cast Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead. Hence, there is nothing required to say why there is craze among audience for this movie. Imtiaz Ali had already given numerous blockbusters with several actors, including Rockstar starring Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri in main lead and Love Aaj kal starring Deepika and Saif as movies main protagonist and when this trio(Imtiaz, Ranbir and Deepika) will come together expectations have to rise. Earlier titled as window seat, movie’s story revolves around a person who loses himself by living according to social conventions expected of him. Movie's introduction is yet to introduce.
4. Jazbaa: After a long gap of five years Aishwarya Rai Bacchan will be making her comeback with this Sanjay Gupta venture alongside Irrfan Khan Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher. Inspired from a Korean movie Seven Days, this is a story of a lawyer whose daughter is kidnapped by a stranger whose interest is not money but something more dangerous. Movie’s first poster is released and the poster was working enough to creates audience enthusiasm because it's motion poster on youtube had earned more than one lakh views. With such strong cast, audience enthusiasm already seen increasing and surely it will grows more once movie’s trailer will be launch on 15th August,2015. This movie is also being in news because its all lead characters are coming in bollywwod movie after a long gap. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan last movie was guzarish (2010), whereas Shabana Azmi was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's Matru   ki Bijli Ka Mandola (2013) which was box office failure and Irrfaan Khan now seen in very rare movies but those were proven classics. So it would be fun to see that what this movie should give to it's audience?

3.Prem Ratan Dhan Payo : 80’s era, known for several worst movies of cinema history, but it also gifted us few classics as well and one of them was Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), which was a debut of Bhagyashree, Salman Khan as well of Suraj Barjatya in his directorial debut. After that salman and Suraj both worked together in blockbuster Hum Aapke hain Koun!(1994) and Hum Saath-Saath hain (1999). Now more than decades later they both are coming together with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Audience will also get chance to witness Sallu Miyan in double role once again after Judwa (1997). It will be also interesting to see Salman Khan in family drama after his long successful career in action genre. This film is schedule to release on 12th November, but people are waiting eagerly to at least get a glimpse of this movie.

2.Brothers: Bollywood mostly deals with romantic or family drama movies but when we talk about actions flicks what we always got was masala packages which rely more over drama than some actual hard stunts. But movies like Jigar (1992) and Lahore (2010) gave its audience some interesting martial art sequences. And latest in this list is Karan Malhotra’s Brothers which was an official remake of Hollywood superhit movie Warriors (2011) starrer Tom Hardy. Karan Malhotra already given us an intense drama movie Agneepath (2010) and now in his second venture which will release on 14th August, audience may witness the same drama movie packed with some jaw dropping action scenes. Dealing with the story of two disjointed brothers. Movie’s trailer was out on 10th June already crossed more than 7 million views in 4 weeks.

Before heading towards most awaited movie of this year lets have some most awaited mentions:
Phantom, Shaandaar, Singh Is Bling, Tamasha,Dilwale, Katti Batti

1.Bajirao Mastani: The film which was first announced in the year 2003 with Salman Khan and Aishwarya rai Bachchan in the lead but after their highly publicised breakup, Bhansali put this movie on hold for more than 10 years. But when Bhansali declared that he will make this long awaited project of him with Ranvir and Deepika in the title role and Priyanka Chopda as Kashibai. People hold their breathe for this movie since then. And keeping in mind people enthusiasm movie's teaser been introduced among audience. And as expected it's teaser getting favourable reviews from it's audiences and crossed more than 3 lakh views in just two days. SLB known for making movies with complex relationship and Bajirao Mastani love story already filled with several ups and downs. So definitely, audience can't wait to see this movie on 18th December, 2015 in theatres.

Most Anticipated Movies which flop in box office

With recent release of Bombay Velvet, Humshakals, Humaari Adhuri Kahaani and such more bollywood just proved one quote, “All that glitters is not gold.” All these movies trailers raised audience enthusiasm but eventually these all   became box office duds. Thus my next blog will try to explore those movies from past three decades which creates hype before its release, mostly because of its star cast, music, movie’s synopsis and more, but none of these movies  matchup public expectation. To be precise, this list contains those movies which failed commercially in India avoiding their overseas earning. As I promised to give you some unknown facts about movies, so below there will be some interesting facts about these movies too, So sit, relax and enjoy:

10. Lajja (2001):Directed by renowned film director Rajkumar Santoshi, this film was released when Bollywood was surrounded by female subjective movies. One after one beautiful movies with female oriented theme have been released, like Astitva (2000), Daman (2001) etc. So when Santoshi came with similar theme, with a massive budget of 25 crore and with long list of superstars like Ajay Devgan, Jackie Shroff, Rekha, Manisha Koirala, Madhuri Dikshit, Anil Kapoor, Danny Denjongpa, Mahima Chawdhary, Phew! “List abhi bhi baaki hai mere dost”.  By its trailer people assumed that it would be another hard hitting women oriented movie. However, movie was flopped but Madhuri Dixit won filmfare award in supporting role for her character of Janki and all lead actors were praised for their performances too.

9. Burning Train (1980): I still wonder why this film was flopped because personally I like this movie. This film had all elements to woo the audience in that time. Gigantic list of superstar, engaged fully masala story and music by legendary musician R.D. Burman. Directed by Ravi Chopra and produced by B.R. Chopra, this film was an inspired version of a hollywood flick Towering Inferno (1974). The plot revolves around the train, Super Express that catches fire on its inaugural run from New Delhi to Mumbai. Movie had huge star-cast of Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Parween Babi, Neetu Singh and still the list remain unfinished! Not only star cast but graphics used in the film were too, far ahead of that time. Surprisingly, released with 100% opening, film collection kept falling and by the time this film declared flop.

8. Desh Premee (1982): Manmohan Desai and Amitabh Bachchan had given us several blockbusters. Films like Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Parvarish (1978), Suhaag (1979) and many more. Considering that era this film had too all the hit elements required. Like for the first time two superstars of two different industries, Uttam Kumar (Tollywood1) and Amitabh Bacchan (Bollywood) had seen shared same screen, with an ensemble cast of Hema Malini, Sharmila Tagore, Parween Baby, Shammi Kapoor and more. Also with background theme over patriotism and using hit element of casting Amitabh Bachchan in double role, this film should be blockbuster. In spite, Desai and Bachchan pair was unsuccessful to give an another blockbuster masala flick.

7. Vijay (1988): Said to be inspired version of Yash Chopra 1978 classic Trishul, the film story revolves around an alleged son who is seeking for revenge from his grandfather whose misdeed made his and his mother's life miserable. With an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini,  Meenakshi Sheshadri, Raj Babbar, Maushami Chatterjee and Anupam Kher, directed by Yash Chopra this film had raised audience expectations at its initial release but due to uncertain reasons this film fall flat in box office collections. However, Anupam Kher won his first filmfare award in best supporting actor category. Yash Raj Productions not produced and Yash Raj not directed any action movie until Dhoom which released in 2004.

6. Ajooba (1991): Audience had great hopes from this movie because, just one year prior Amitabh’s sinking career got a tremendous boom from movie Hum (1990). Also veteran actor, producer Shashi kapoor was entering in direction field by this movie with an ensemble cast of Amitabh, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Sonam, Amrish Puri, Shammi Kapoor and more. Due to this enthusiasm of the people was bound to increase. With such big star cast and with budget of eight crore made this one of costliest and most awaited movie of that time. However, the film failed miserably in terms of execution, direction and acting.Even film's graphics was criticised.
Released in two languages, in Hindi as Ajooba and in Russian Vozvrashcheniye Bagdadskogo Vora, Shashi Kapoor was only able to recover half cost of the movie.

5. Nigahein (1989): With blockbusters like Sadma(1983), Mawaali (1983), Tohfa (1984) and Karma (1986), Sridevi had established herself and then came Harmesh Malhotra directed Nagina (1986).
After this movie Sridevi had garnered the title of superstar. In fact she was considered as first female superstar of bollywood wwho constantly gave hits to bollywood. Nonetheless, Sridevi keep giving hits on after another. And then came bollywood’s first sequel film Nigahein (1989). When news came about the sequel of 86’s blockbuster Nagina, audience expected to saw another Sridevi's hit. But when the film was released then on the ground of stories, songs and acting this movie was not even around the film Nagina. Result, laced with such top-quality artists like Sunny Deol, Sridevi and Anupam Kher, the movie falls flat and all sequels plans of other movies put into the base.

4. Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom (2007): Released in 2007 audience also had lots of expectations from this movie. The film's director Shaad Ali, had earlier given us back to back two blockbusters, Saathiya (2002) and Bunty Aur Babli (2005). Also Abhishek Bachchan’s flop career was getting back on hit track with movies like Dhoom (2004), Yuva (2004), Guru (2007) and more. Film's songs were chart busters of that time, also audience expected to witness father-son duo once again of Amitabh Bahchchan and Abhishek Bachchan after Sarkar (2005) and Bunty Aur Babli (2005), then where does the film lacked? According to film critic Taran Adarsh, the film is all gloss no substance.” Same said by Sanjay Ram that “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom offers the colour it is all but a short story stretched”. Movie also faced audience rage as the film had hardly any scenes of Abhishek and Amitabh. In fact Amitabh have just guest appearance, roaming and singing on streets with no intention. Film opened with 65-70% response, in fact in some theatres it opened with 90+ responses, but in the lack of story the film failed to get its costs from India.

3.Salaam-E-Ishq (2007): 2007, might consider as comeback year of multistarrer movies. Films such as Full and Final, Shootout at Lokhandwala,  Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and more. However, all these movies were not stand over audience expectations, no matter. One of such film was Salaam-E-Ishq. If we took a short glance over the starcast, then names like Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Govinda, Juhi Chawla, and Priyanka Chopra is enough to raise the expectations from the movie. And yes, star list is still unfinished. But people's hopes were shattered when this film had hit the theatres. Inspired by the 2003 Hollywood movie Love Actually, movie’s story revolves around six couple in different parts of the world who are facing different problems in their relationship. This three hours long movie met with negative reviews and declared disaster at the box-office.

2. Roop Ki Rani, Choron Ka Raja (1993):Ranked among Indian Cinemas top 10 biggest flops, this film also called one of the most costliest movie of 90's era, made with a budget of 9 crore rupees, this film had brought back hit trio of 1987 Superhit trend setter movie Mr.India (Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Sridevi) with additional cast of Jackie Shroff and Anupam Kher. But when this film released, it didn't stand with the expectations of audiences. earlier expected to be directed by Shekhar Kapoor, responsibility of film direction was finally given to Satish Kaushik after Shekhar Kapoor left this project due to creative differences with production team. According to some, this was the main reason behind downfall of this big project because it was Satish Kaushik directorial debut. Before he worked as Shekhar Kapoor assistant director, and thus he was unable to bear the responsibility of directing such big project. However, this disaster flick had harmed the reputation of Anil Kapoor superstar image of that time.

Before heading towards No.1 pick let see few of honourable mention:
                    L.O.C Kargil (2003), Aarakshan (2011), Yuvraaj (2008)

1. Jaani Dushman- Ek Anokhi Kahani(2002): Once upon a time there was director named

Rajkumar Kohli who gave bollywood some of brilliant multi starrer flicks like Naagin (1976), Jaani Dushman (1979), Raaj Tilak (1984). Then he decided to launch his son Armaan Kohli with same tactics of multi starrer flick but instead kept giving several box-office failures like Virodhi (1992), Aulad ke Dushman (1993) continued till Qahar (1997), which not only harmed his son career but also sank Rajkumar Kohli career. Then, after a long gap of five years this father-son duo came with Jaani Dushman which said to be reboot of Kohli’s 76 classic hit Naagin, whose story revolves around revenge story of shape-shifting snake. With an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Aditya Pancholi,Manisha Koirala, Aftab Shivdasani, Arshad Warsi (List yahan bhi baaki hai), this fulm also marked the debut of singer turned actor Sonu Nigam (Why Sony, Why?) and of course Armaan kohli as Icchadhari Saanp (we wish Armaan Kohli should be vanished saanp)! However, movie’s trailer made audience believed that this would be comeback movie of Rajkumar’s direction career and supernatural horror genre. (Audience still don’t care for Armaan Kohli!). But when this movie was released, audience jaws dropped in awe for this legendary movie. Legendary in terms of graphics, acting, songs and of course Sonu Nigam dialogue delivery but all remained legendary for of course wrong reasons. And of course, legendary because director Rajkumar Kohli had not directed any movie since 2002.

So these are the list of few most anticipated movies which later proved to be box office duds. Soon as promised the next blog will be contain some interesting facts of these box office duds. You can also give your comments, ideas and views in the comment box below.

Movies with Similar Plots!

When we saw these movies, first thing came into our sense was that we had seen these story/plot earlier also. Today’s blog will highlight those movies which stories are inspired from some previous released movies. To be precise this list does not contain any kind of official or unofficial remake from any other industry but rather focus over influenced movies of its predecessor. Also here those plot twists are excluded which we could see in almost every bollywood movies, because for that there will be another list:
1.) Love Aaj Kal(2009) / Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013): How could these two movies have any kind of similarity? Love Aaj Kal was romantic Comedy-drama film directed by Imtiaz Ali whereas Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani was coming-of- age1 romantic comedy film directed by Ayan Mukherjee. Only similarity we can see here is presence of Deepika Padukone. But see it this way, in both these movies actors love were overshadowed by their ambitions, which was sensed by their partner (in both case Deepika Padukone)so rather than express her feelings to them, she let them (Saif Ali khan/ Ranbir Kapoor) pursue their dreams. But as said ‘Ishq aur Mushq chupaye nahin chupta’, thus at the end of both movies our protagonist2 realizes their mistake and goes back to rectify their mistakes by get what they had lost( Deepika Padukone).

2.  Parwana(1971)/Darr(1993): In both these movies we got chance to see cold bloody psycho murderer in Amitabh Bacchan(Parwana) and in Shahrukh Khan(Darr). Similarity, in both these movies, our antiheroes are obsessed by  movie’s actresses (Yogeeta Bali/ Juhi Chawla) and do anything to get her even if they have to killed someone. Now differences, both these movies protagonists were different in character. In Darr, Sunny Deol will do anything to save her love from her psycho lover whereas in Parwana, Naveen Nischol(love interest of Yogita Bali) was framed for her uncle’s( Om Prakash) murder by Amitabh Bacchan and in the end he was not killed by actor’s hand as happened in Darr but he committed suicide once he realized his mistake and thus confessed his feelings to his love. Darr was second movie in which Shahrukh Khan seen in negative avatar (earlier was Baazigar in 1993) whereas Parwana was Amitabh’s first movie where audience had seen his negative obsessed murderer look, this movie was not successful, however its brilliant murder scene were Amitabh murder Om Prakash and framed Navin Nischol for his misdeed was copied in Sriram Raghavan’s neo-noir3 thriller film Johny Gaddar(2007).
3.) Jab Jab Phool Khile(1965)/ Raja Hindustani(1996): Well both these movies are iconic in its own way. Jab Jab Phool Khile, starring Shashi Kapoor and Nanda was become so popular in Algeria that it screened every two days for couple of years and made Shashi Kapoor household name in North African countries  whereas Raja Hindustani lead Karishma Kapoor won her first film fare award for best actress and made her superstar of bollywood. But yes, I'am talking about movie’s plot, so both these movies based upon a rich girl Rita (Nanda)/ Aarti (Karishma Kapoor) who wanted to go to a hill station, and there she met her guide Raja boatman (Shashi Kapoor)/Raja cabdriver aka Raja Hindustani (Aamir Khan) and eventually they both fall in love and when they both want to marry each other, entered actresses rich father (Kamal Kapoor/Suresh Oberoi) who were against their marriages. Except few changes, both these movies plots were so similar that when you searched both these movies in IMDB you will get similar synopsis.
4.) Bawarchi(1972)/Hero No.1(1997): Both these movies were super hit. Rather than their different directors and genres, David Dhawan’s Hero No.1 had influence of Hrishekesh Mukherjee’s Classic Bawarchi. Bawarchi’s plot was however inspired from a Bengali movie Galpa Holeo Satyi(1966) but we will not go into that. Also it’s been remade in several other languages, but here it’s plot been adopted to give a flow to Dhawan’s Hero No.1. So in Bawarchi, a cook named Raghu (Rajesh Khanna) entered in the life of Sharma Family whose disreputation of ill treatment of their servants spread to such an extent that no one want to work there. However Raghu took this challenge and not only became everyone’s favourite but also changed family’s nature. Now in Hero No.1,Rajesh Malhotra(Govinda) and Meena (Karishma Kapoor) fall in love in Europe but due to certain consequences Meena’s Grandfather Dinanath(Paresh Rawal) not accept their marriage, so to win their heart and Meena’s hand wealthy Rajesh entered in Meena’s home in disguise of cook Raju. Both these movies have lots of similar scenes once Govinda turned himself from wealthy Rajesh to cook Raju.
5.) Dhoom3 (2013)/Gunday(2014): What? How could these two movies have any kind of similarity except for its production house (Yash Raj Films). Dhoom-3 was story of thief whereas Gunday was story of Coal mafia set in the backdrop of Bangladesh partition, then how? So,just relax and see, in Dhoom 3 Aamir Khan are twins, in Gunday Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor are not less than sibling. In Dhoom-3 their father Jackie Shroff committed suicide, in Gunday their father like character Lateef (Pankaj Tripathi) got killed while saving them, eventually both our movies antiheroes’4 childhood become hell. However they all stand themselves and became kingpin in crime field. Aamir Khans(he was twin so Khans) became thieves and Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor became kingpin of coal mafia. Entered officers Abhishek Bacchan/Irrfaan Khan to take these criminals down and when they not succeeded they use actresses Katrina Kaif/Priyanka Chopra to create disputes between them. And both actresses just good in one thing i.e. rope dance.(just kidding, they had few dialogues as well)!and in the end officers succeeded but unable to capture them because our both heroes died at last because they cant live without each other .

So  in one or other way movies have influence over one another. Now its another part will be published soon where I will show more such movies which have influence of some another bollywood movies. If you liked this blog. Subscribe it, comment it and give your ideas to see your idea come into live.
THANKS!

Top 10 actors who never won filmfare award for best actor.

Film fare award aka black lady been introduced in 1954 to honor the best work in different categories from film industry and Dilip Kumar was the first actor who win film fare award for best actor in 1954 for Daag. Since then movie lovers’ zeal increased to see their heartthrob stars to win this black lady for once. Even every actor always dreamt to hold this black lady at least for once in their career. In fact Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan had made record in winning film fare award, 5 and 7 times respectively.
But there are many such actors who haven’t won film fare award yet. And this next blog is totally dedicated to these underrated actors whose hard work gone unnoticed by the film jury of film fare award.
For clarification, this page will mention those actors who never won film fare award for best actor category. So we are including national award winner as well and those actors who won this award but in different category. Also the list will go down according to the stars popularity, their contribution in film industry and their luck with film fare award:

10.) Abhishek Bachchan: Considered as one of the most underrated actor of today. This megastar child is trapped under his father’s larger than life image.  Whereas Amitabh Bachchan won film fare award 8 times out of which five times he won for best actor, Abhishek Bachchan is yet struggling to prove his worth. However he won film fare award for best supporting actor consecutively three time i.e. Yuva (2005), Sarkar (2006) and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kahna (2007). But eventually lost the moment when his deserving performance in Guru just got nomination in Film fare award best actor category.

9.) Govinda: This No.1 actor of Bollywood who was voted as tenth greatest star of stage or screen of the last thousand years by BBC News Online users in 1999 never won this black lady as a best male lead. However he had been nominated for 12 times in Film fare award out of which five times he had been nominated for best actor category. He eventually won two times, first time in 1997, special award for Saajan Chale Sasural and second time for Haseena Maan Jaayegi in 2000 as a best comedian but this actor who brought comedy into mainstream always been under rated as a mere comic actor and even his performance in Hatya (1988) gone unnoticed and not even nominated for this category.

8.) Saif Ali Khan: Looks like there are many actors who had won National Film Award for their roles but eventually been rejected in film fare award. Next actor who according to this blog  also deserved to win best actor award in film fare ceremony is ‘Nawab’ of Bollywood Saif Ali Khan. Begin his career in 1992 with Yash Chopra Production Parampara alongside Aamir Khan. He won his first film fare award for his male debut in his second movie Aashiq Awara in 1993. Since then he appeared in several movies and even given a superhit in 1994 Yeh Dillagi. But this actor has waited too long to prove his ability in front this industry.after several flops he rose to prominence with his comeback movie in 2001’s Dil Chahta Hai and since then he appeared in several movies, given hits like Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Race (2008), Race 2 (2013) alongside multiple cast and even given solo hits like Hum Tum (2004), Salaam Namastey (2005), Love Aaj Kal (2009) and more. Its not like he never won film fare award. Like mentioned above he won film fare as best comic actor for Hum Tum and best actor in Negative role for Omkara (2007), but also lost when he was nominated for Parineeta (2006) and Love Aaj Kal (2009) where he easily swift from present modern Jai to ancient Sardar Veer Singh. In fact he won National film award as best actor for his role in Hum Tum but been nominated for best comic actor for same role in film fare award.

7.) Akshay Kumar:  This multitalented Padmashree awarded actor who eventually became the first actor who earned back Bollywood more than 2000 crore also been termed as one of the most underrated actors who eventually failed in impressing award jury for his performances. From 1995 to 2015 he has been nominated for 4 times for best actor category but he too even failed to grab this black lady. However he too won film fare award for best actor in negative role for Ajnabee in 2002, won for best actor in comic role in 2006 for Garam Masala and even won Film fare award for best glamorous actor in 2015. But still he is waiting after appear in more than 100 movieshe still won’t grab his best actor award.

6.) Salmaan Khan: Our Bhaijaan ruled over the hearts of thousand fans but eventually failed to create the same impact in the heart of juries. Likewise Akshay Kumar he also gave several blockbusters to the Bollywood but never won film fare award for his main lead. In fact his deserving role of Radhe in Tere Naam(2000) and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam  and his larger than life role of Chulbul Pandey had just able to reached till nomination of best actor but unable to win it.

5.)Ajay Devgan: Considered one of the finest actor of Bollywood, Ajay Devgan won two times best actor award for best actor in 1998 for Zakhm and in 2002 for the Legend of Bhagat Singh but when it came to win film fare award his faith didn’t go with his talent. Nominated around seven times for best actor category Ajay Devgan had not won this award yet. However he once won for Deewangi in 2002 in best negative role and in the same year won best critics award for Company and The legend of Bhagat Singh.

4.) Vinod Khanna: Considered in one time the biggest competitor of Amitabh Bachchan, this veteran actor began his career as a villain and appeared in several such until he got his first break as solo lead hero in Hum Tum aur Woh in 1971. His disappearance from industry during 82-87 when he started following spiritual leader Osho arise several questions, and eventually led him began his career from beginning. But there is no doubt that this magnificent actor also deserved to won film fare award for best actor but sadly he had been nominated for just once in the superhit movie of 1982 Qurbaani. Even his role as death military officer in Gulzar’s critically acclaimed movie Achanak (1973) gone unnoticed and Vinod Khanna not even stand in the race of best actor category.
3.) Shatrughan Sinha: It was his dialogue delivery and style which gave him the title of ‘shotgun’. Like his contemporary actor Vinod Khanna,  Shatrughan Sinha also began his career by portraying negative and small roles before got his big hit by Gulzar debuted movie Mere Apne (1971), and since then appeared in many superhit movies of 70’s era. In fact he was the one who gave Bollywood its showman Subhash Ghai by let him direct 1976 Kalicharan. Shatrughan Sinha appeared in several solo hits, few of them are Kalicharan (1976), Aadmi sadak ka (1977), Vishvanath (1978) but like many unfortunate actors this all iconic roles not even nominated for best actor category and he nominated for the first time 1980 superhit movie Naseeb where he shared screen along with Amitabh Bachchan

But he was also listed among those actors who never won film fare rather than delivered many memorable roles.

1) Dharmendra : This blog no.1 pick for most underrated actor for film fare award is He-man of Bollywood Dharmendra ji. Been in Bollywood for more than four decades, the first actor who was voted as one of the sexiest man on earth, Dharmendra ji had given several classic hit movies which are uncountable, like Yaadon ki baaraat (1974), Bandini (1963), Haqeeqat (1964) and more. Even it took me a whole blog to mention list of his best movies. Even he had been 4 out of 6 times for the best actor award but lost every time. After delivered consecutive hits in a year this veteran actor many iconic role, gone unnoticed like for Chupke Chupke, Satyakaam, Jeevan Mrityu in 1970, and more and more. Finally when he won film fare lifetime achievement award in 1997. He said  that every year he designed a new suit with a hope to win this black lady and finally when he got it, it was worth more than 15 awards.

This list was just to mention that there are many actors who deserved this black lady for their solo lead performances. but they never won it and even today there are many who still waiting to hold this black lady for their best performance as a main actor. If you think I had missed some worthful actor, you can mention them in your comment or in my facebook page Cinemaniac.
